Freightnet & Westgate take it to the Next Level at X2

Freightnet take unit 5 X2

Freightnet (Handling) Ltd, a privately owned cargo handling company, is set to occupy a 36,524 sq ft unit on the upper floor at X2, Heathrow, after signing a 10 year lease.

Last year SEGRO leased the whole of the ground floor at X2 to AirWorld Services Limited and Freightnet will be the first customer to occupy one of four units on the upper deck. Freightnet has also secured 1,187 sq ft of space within Building 554 on Shoreham Road on a 5 year lease, which is located within Heathrow Airport’s Cargo Terminal known as ‘The Horseshoe’.

Freightnet Chairman, Adam Bacon commented: “Having worked with Aspect to conduct a comprehensive search of available airport property, we identified X2 and Shoreham Road as
the ideal strategic locations from which to drive our business expansion into the Heathrow cargo market.”

Simon Lanyon of SEGRO, added: “Freightnet is a rapidly expanding company and we are pleased they have chosen to locate to such a prominent location at Heathrow. Freightnet will be able to utilise the large warehousing space as well as create spacious offices."

Westgate take unit 7 X2

Westgate Handling Services Limited, a freight handling company, will become the second customer to occupy a unit on the upper deck at X2, leaving two remaining units. The company will occupy unit 7, totalling 27,452 sq ft on a 10 year lease.

Brian Lawrence of Westgate Handling Services, commented: "We chose to secure this unit as X2 offers modern business space located close to the airport, which is of prime importance for our business. We plan to use this space for storage and distribution purposes."

Simon Lanyon of SEGRO, added: "We are delighted to welcome Westgate Handling Services as the latest occupier to the top floor of X2. The latest deals at X2 show that there continues to be demand for well located industrial space in close proximity to Heathrow airport and its surrounding environment."
